In light of recent actions taken by James Danziger with regard to the work of Ansel Adams, I have made the decision to detach myself from association with Danziger Gallery. It is not a decision I take lightly.

Photography has shaped the course of my life, beginning with my early studies with Ansel Adams, whose teachings instilled in me a deep regard for authenticity and craftsmanship in pursuit of a personal vision. Over the years, that respect intensified into a profound love for the discipline of the photographic process, and the human connection involved in creating an honest image with intention.

Having experienced the appropriation of my own work - most notably Richard Prince’s use of my Marlboro imagery, I understand how important authorship and artistic integrity are to the creative process. In may ways, those early experiences have become the catalyst for my continued evolution as an artist, pushing me to continue reinventing and challenging myself rather than repeating what had already been done.

With that perspective in mind, and out of respect for the legacy and principles of Ansel Adams that first inspired my journey in photography, I will be seeking new representation. I remain grateful for the relationships and experiences that I’ve had with the team at Danziger and sincerely wish everyone involved the very best moving forward.
